TORONTO, Ontario, July 22, 2009– Caro is pleased to announce completion of an engagement with Harris Broadcast Communications Division to implement a set of EDI transactions between them and their tier-1 suppliers.  Harris BCD was faced with internal challenges around data quality, timeliness and wasted manual effort in dealing with multiple applications.  The solution was to implement EDI between them and their tier-1 suppliers to provide quicker turnaround in communications with suppliers and improve the velocity of the supply chain.

The initiative was successfully completed with the combined efforts of Harris BCD business leadership, Harris IT support and a technical resource from Caro Systems Inc.(Caro), a Toronto-based Systems Integrator. The initiative involved the development of purchase order (850) and change order (860) paired transactions out of Harris’s Oracle 11i application to communicate with three major suppliers in North America and Asia.

“An important cornerstone of our strategy is to enhance our internal resources with partners that have proven expertise like Caro, and thereby help us accelerate toward our vision and goals”, said Robert Lex, Director of Operations at Harris Corporation, Broadcast Communications Division.

“We are pleased that Harris BCD selected Caro as their partner in this initiative, and that together we delivered on the objectives set out by Robert for improving turnaround times and reducing internal manual effort in this process” said Kevin McGaffey, President & CEO of Caro Systems Inc.
